Villagers pray along the dry bands of the Wombradu River, asking God to bring rain to Sudumta village in the Bidu district of Afar, Ethiopia. This district hasn't had rain in over one year. According to village leaders, the lack of rain began 20-30 years ago in a region that once was more fertile. Today, Sudumta village and surrounding areas are nothing but dried rock and earth.
