Cenote - Mexico

Seeking tranquility in X'Keken Cenote located in the town of Dzitnup near Valladolid in the Yucatán of Mexico. Mayans believed these sacred cenotes (underground caves) led to the afterlife. During religious events, the Mayans would often drop important objects into the water. Some legends also state they were used in human sacrifice, an often debated part of Mayan history.
